Greetings! I’m an artist, writer, curator, teacher and human animal living in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles. A Creative Capital Award recipient and OUT100 honoree, my film GOLDEN GOLDEN was a GOLDEN REEL FINALIST for BEST SHORT FORM FILMMAKING at the LOS ANGELES ASIAN PACIFIC FILM FESTIVAL — and was showcased in TRANS HIRSTORY IN OBJECTS: TRANS VIDEO STORE, a special MOTHA (MUSEUM OF TRANS HIRSTORY AND ART) exhibition at the PORTLAND ART MUSEUM. THE HEART’S MOUTH a commissioned video projection at the SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART — premiered in the exhibition THIS/THAT: NEW STORIES FROM THE EDGE OF ASIA, while my stop-motion animation OUR COSMOS OUR CHAOS toured North America and Asia/Pacific as part of STILL PRESENT PASTS, a multi-disciplinary exhibition on the legacy of the Korean War. Queer-trans experimental video projects include the SCHOOL BOY ART, ARE YOU ME? video poem series and WE GOT MOVES YOU AIN’T EVEN HEARD OF (PART ONE), an experimental video that screened in early transgender film festivals such as TRANNYFEST (1999) and COUNTING PAST TWO: PERFORMANCE, VIDEO AND SPOKEN WORD WITH TRANSGENDER NERVE (1999).

I’ve taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses in art, design, filmmaking, screenwriting, editing, comics, and animation at Swarthmore College, Bryn Mawr College, Scripps College, Cal State Northridge, and Citrus College, and am currently Assistant Professor of Narrative Media in the Department of Visual Arts at UC San Diego.
